5 good reasons why you should go wwoofing in the winter

Nov 17, 2022

It’s almost winter and you haven’t wwoofed yet. Here are our top 5 reasons why you should go wwoofing in winter.

  1. Whether it’s “getting the cow off the ice again” or straightening up the manure trailer that tipped over altogehter when you dumped it (because it was frozen solid) – there are adventures you will only have in winter.

  2. When there’s the most delicious food, you’re always full far too quickly? In the cold, your body burns quite a lot of calories: You’ll be able to eat MORE of the delicious food that’s always available on WWOOF farms than in the summer!

  3. Lambing season usually takes place in the winter. It’s the most stressful time of all, but if you’re already consuming daily videos of plodding little lambs (or even, oh my gosh: plodding lamb twins!!!) – don’t wait for summer.

  4. If you deny yourself wwoofing day after day all winter, by summer you may be so psyched that no one can stand you (we’ve been there ALL before).

  5. If you send us a testimonial “My WWOOF experience in winter” (or similar title), chances are we’ll publish it and you’ll make it big.
