DSEE Funding: We are training new volunteers as “Guides on Organic Farms”!
Great news: Our new training course for qualification as a “Guide on Organic Farms” is being funded by the DSEE (German Foundation for Engagement and Volunteering)! The goal is to involve WWOOFers who are eager to take on responsibility more closely in the organization of our weekend meetings on organic farms – to train them as “Guides on Organic Farms.”
In addition to the enriching community experiences, this offers a wonderful opportunity to take on a meaningful role.
From November 7th to 9th, we are organizing a training course for eight dedicated participants together with the WWOOF farm “Lehmkuhle” in Reichelsheim (Odenwald).
The training will cover:
• Fundamentals of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD),
• Group leadership methods,
• Practical exercises for conducting farm tours, group moderation, guidance during activities, and feedback sessions.
Participants will then become part of our active volunteer team, who play a key role in shaping and supporting our work. Starting in 2026, they will be empowered to help plan and run weekend get-togethers for adults on organic farms – a responsible, socially relevant, and fun activity!
Want to get involved? Great! Here are the requirements:
• Are you a WWOOF member and have already been WWOOFing at least once (it doesn’t have to have been in Germany!) or attended a WWOOF get-together?
• Write a text to goof@wwoof.de briefly introducing yourself and telling us why you want to get involved! Or send a short video or voice message with the same content to +49 162 9066406.
• Are you available on our weekend from November 7th to 9th, 2025, and are willing to support at least one of the seven WWOOF weekends planned for 2026.
• You’re interested in becoming part of the active volunteer team at WWOOF Germany e.V.
Here’s what you’ll get:
• A fantastic training course with an ESD expert and the WWOOF team
• Reimbursement of travel expenses, free meals, and accommodation at an inspiring WWOOF farm
• The long-term opportunity to lead meetings independently
• Becoming part of a committed and vibrant volunteer team, with special team weekends in exciting locations
We look forward to welcoming new faces and working with them to spread the idea of a sustainable, open community. So, go for it!
The application deadline is August 31, 2025. We’ll let you know after that whether you’ll be included!
