The multigenerational farm near Leipzig is a vibrant community of 27 people aged 4 to 86 who live and work together on a traditional four-sided farmstead. In addition to a large garden, vegetable plot, and greenhouse, they also manage an adjacent wooded area with ponds. The community combines communal living with social commitment: as an educational institution, the farm offers children and young people who cannot live in their family environment a family-like home.
The garden is a place for experimentation, learning, and collaborative work – from vegetable cultivation and composting to creative projects like raised beds, Benjes hedges, and insect hotels. The farm draws inspiration from permaculture principles and places great emphasis on intergenerational learning and participation.
