WWOOF meeting at host “Wildkräuterhof Landsprosse”

27.10. – 29.10. 2023, Lichtenau near Chemnitz, Saxony

We want to end the year with a WWOOF meeting at the wild herb farm Landsprosse. On the last weekend in October, we will learn a lot about wild herbs from the farmer Sonja Schulze. The farm is located in the Saxon municipality of Lichtenau, in the district of Central Saxony and borders the cities of Chemnitz, Frankenberg and Mittweida. Our host writes:

“Wild herbs are the focus at LANDSPROSSE. With us, regional, edible flowers and herbs are cultivated and collected on our own land. Because Saxony is not only rich in cultural treasures, forgotten vegan delicacies are also waiting in nature to be discovered for the kitchen. The taste sensations that nature has to offer are diverse and the ingredients numerous. However, the plants are often inconspicuous and are usually thrown away unnoticed as weeds.”

To create biotope connectivity through the field hedges planted 5 years ago, wire fences need to be removed, then we will create stormwater drains and build bird of prey aids out of wooden stakes. As a special feature this time we will make herbal salt to take with us.

For the community shelter please bring sleeping bag, sleeping mat and in case of rain also rain clothes and rubber boots.

We provide the organic food and gloves.

Arrival is Friday noon 13:00, the meeting ends Sunday after lunch.

The farm can be reached by train via Oberlichtenau (about 2 km away), from there pick-up is possible.

Sign-up for the meeting HERE!

It will be a meeting with a maximum of 15 places! Unfortunately, dogs can not be brought.
Once more, we will have a great WWOOF community experience, eat and wwoof together, have good conversations and share our WWOOF experiences. Looking forward to you

Frank, WWOOF-Germany Team
